Hey Gents,
Just wanted to give you some great news. I had an hour long meeting with Pastor Terry and his new right hand man, Stephen Wahlstrom. We discussed many things, among them our man power issue and the need to be able to tone things down on cameras. Terry was very supportive of any way we could make the ministry less of a burden and more enjoyable. So we can move forward on the new way we would be switching the video board:
During worship, leave on overhead the entire duration of worship; no video cameras during worship
During the message, have a wide shot set for the teaching pastor the entire duration of the teaching time (see attached for example)
Essentially I plan to sit down during the message with my wife as you can as well. However this doesn't mean you have to do the above, you can still switch the cameras if you'd like. It's up to you. You have "artistic license".
As for other things, I will be sending out another email later to detail what I think we need to do next due to our staffing conditions. One of my goals is to come up with possible scenarios that will enable each of us to serve while having at least one or two weekends off, including myself! So be thinking of ways we could do this.
In case you haven't noticed I also streamlined the lighting down to one button. We have a set of buttons for spots and a set for house lights, five in all. I could even go further on this as well.
Let's continue to pray. Wednesday services are going to be very low key. Let me know if you would like to be the "Wednesday Night" media tech. But Terry says if we can't support Wednesday from media, the service will still happen regardless of what it looks like.
God bless. Let's chat soon.
In Christ,
Randall
