Calvary Lighting Changes

Hey guys!
You may have already noticed the stage changes for the new series in the Gospel of John, starting this Sunday Oct 2nd.  For now we will be primarily using the board and the PC will be shut off.  We've configured four main scenes on the submaster faders (bottom left):
1. Pre-Service (no one on stage)
2. Worship
3. Teaching
4. Final Song (both Stephen and Terry on stage)
House Lights - Top Right on board fader by itself (number 99 labeled at the bottom of the fader)

I'll come by to touch base with each of you on these new changes.

Some other changes that are minor:
- Removed Canon GL2 camcorder on tripod and re-routed the robotic camera 2 back.  So just like normal now.
- The monitor on the Easy Worship PC went out on Monday (sorry John) so I switched it out and put the smaller monitor on the secondary and the bigger one for primary.  That's 2 bad monitors of the 4 in four years.  Perhaps buying generic isn't always best on electronics.

Get with me on any questions you may have.  We'll talk soon.

FTP File Needs .mp4 Extension

Hey gang, just a quick note that when using the CoreFTP application to upload the MP4 Video to Blip.tv, it needs the .mp4 extension.  See below for example.  I didn't know it was that picky but we know now.

STOR Share Sow and Grow.mp4
Connect socket #2100 to 74.122.174.47, port 58101...
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for Share Sow and Grow.mp4

Running EasyWorship on a Mac

Hey guys,
This is pretty cool, albeit a little technical so I can go into it in more detail in person.  One of these days we'll need to upgrade the computers so Macs are viable options since they are very graphic intense friendly.  Below our counterparts from Calvary South already got there iMac loaded with a copy of Windows and run Easy Worship!  But we should also consider switching to Presenter for Mac (we'd test it for a few months first).  Don't freak out this isn't any time soon just wanting to keep you all in the loop.  Easy Worship has been a great tool and always continues to amaze.   I also am amazed our Dell PC's have lasted this long. That's totally a God thing.

Anyway, in case you are interested...

Here's a fun experiment...

We're running EZ Worship on a mac via VMFusion Ware 3.1...

We did this for our youth camp on one of the guys macbook pros and they didn't have any issues..for the whole week.

Then i go on vacation and our pc crashes and our back up laptop pc crashes.. so B goes out and gets us the imac...

Installed XP on it but couldn't get the text to overlay... so installed Windows 7 today and everything is working great. The guy at camp was running windows 7... too.

I'll let you know when it crashes. lol.

Hopefully we're a budget increase/year away from Pro Presenter....

Upload Video Using FTP Client

Using this method to upload the video to Blip.tv is much more efficient and reliable. If there is a disruption in the upload, the FTP Client stops and starts where it left off. Future upload sites will also work this way, as we may go to different video hosting services.

1. First, go to Start Menu and locate CoreFTP in the list. CoreFTP is a free software (freeware).

2. Now in the Site Manger, select Blip.TV or the service you are using to host the file and hit the button "Connect".

3. In the bottom left frame, select the file you want to upload and right click.
Select "Upload As"

4. Rename the file with the title of the message with extension (i.e. .mp4) . See picture example. Click OK.

5. The bottom window frame should have an upload status and the Bytes should be moving. Verify the file is in process.

Done. The file will automatically post to the site and do the rest.

New Camera Setup - Camera #2

Hey guys,
Not sure how long this will stay but I've placed the Canon GL2 on a tripod in the booth and routed it in the video board in place of Camera 2.  You will just need to turn it on by sliding the top left switch forward on the camera and then move it where you want it - easiest is on Terry during messages.

Let me know what you think... after you check it out of course.

Thanks,
Randall

To all Calvary Austin and esp Ministry Teams,

ENTERSECTION is just 2 weeks away, so we need to think ahead and make sure you have sent this out to your teams to bring food to share. Each team should bring at least one of each item...casserole, salad, bread, sweets. Decide among your teams who brings what, so you don't end up with 4 desserts and 1 casserole!

LETTUCE gather together with our families to break BREAD and share some SWEET fellowship. Calvary Austin's CASA-ROLES into action for this fun church-wide fellowship.
Email me what your team is bringing, and anyone can also sign up at guest services also.
We'll need some food servers to volunteer at food tables.

Sunday, May 1st

11:00 Mingle & Jingle

1:00 Pfellowship Pflunch

Pf= Pflugerville Potluck food

EnterSection replaces the Backstage Events we did last year. It's a new name for our "open house" to let the Calvary ministries and congregation fellowship and meet one another's needs for spiritual connection. Let your ministry teams know this will be going on after 1st & 2nd service that day. Encourage everyone to bring a dish to share...they can sign up at guest services or you can email me. We will have the ministry tables in the lobby for the leaders and alternates to decorate your tables and be available for greeting new friends.

I just came up with Jingle since it rhymes with Mingle & thought it might be a fun way for each ministry to come up with a silly or serious jingle to represent their ministry... so who's in the game for something new & creative?

EX: Guest Services... Be our guest, be our guest, put our service to the test. Let us show you what we've got here, then God guides you to the rest.

EX: Prayer Ministry... I'll say a little prayer for you... forever and ever...

Let me know what your teams come up with... this can be fun!

Good Friday & Fellowship

Hey guys,
I'm not sure about the time slot set for Good Friday but I'm 99% sure we are having one.  Take a look at your calendars and see if you can serve on the evening of April 22nd.

Also, Luis mentioned we should have a get together fellowship time in April, before most go on summer vacations.  Let me know what you would like to do, where to meet and best nights for you.  Friday or Saturday nights are good for Kristen and I, but also Tuesday nights work.

Stay tuned.  Stay close to Jesus.
